Logging has been such an integral part of ham radio since the very beginning. But - just what does logging entail? What makes a good log and why? How does a paper-log stack up to newer software? What's this ADI file format all about?
Come to the next SVRC meeting, (February 1 , starting at 7 p.m. at our Club HQ, Room 330, Red Cross Building, 1045 Outer Park Drive, Springfield ) and we'll figure it all out - interactively!

Tim, N9PUZ, will present information on Summits on the Air (SOTA) at the August SVRC club meeting. SOTA started in Europe as a way to encourage ham radio operation from the mountains and has grown to include associations in nearly a 100 countries and even includes opportunities for operators to participate in SOTA from the comfort of the couch at home. Well, how about if Tim tells you about it himself? SOTA is a perfect example of a hobby within a hobby!
Members of the Sangamon Valley Radio Club will get an inside look at plans for the annual West Central Illinois Harmfest in Carlinville at the Club's meeting on Thursday, April 6, with an eye toward participating in co-sponsoring the event. They'll also get a preview of what's in store for this year's Field Day in June.
The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the SVRC's headquarters on the third floor of the American Red Cross Building, 1045 Outer Park Drive, Springfield.
