About Sangamon Valley Radio Club

Headquartered in Springfield, Illinois, U.S.A. -- the state capitol and home to Abraham Lincoln -- the Sangamon Valley Radio Club a 501(c)3 Not for Profit is marking its 67th year in 2016 as an affiliate of the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) and its 68th year as a club. ARRL is the national association for amateur radio in the United States and the largest organization of radio amateurs in the world.

The Club draws its membership primarily from Sangamon County in Central Illinois and from nearby communities, offering monthly meetings, workshops, amateur radio license classes and testing as well as community service, education, technical information, nets, social events, and mentoring programs throughout the year.

Our membership year runs from January 1 to December 31. Dues information can be found on our "Join/Renew" page and is pro-rated for new members who come in later in the year. The Club offers a special rate for students, senior citizens, families and businesses.

Whether your interest in amateur radio is confined to simply connecting with other “hams,” upgrading your technical skills, providing communications for large events, or responding to an emergency, the Club can help you reach your goal and expand your knowledge of amateur radio.
