Tim, N9PUZ, will present information on Summits on the Air (SOTA) at the August SVRC club meeting. SOTA started in Europe as a way to encourage ham radio operation from the mountains and has grown to include associations in nearly a 100 countries and even includes opportunities for operators to participate in SOTA from the comfort of the couch at home. Well, how about if Tim tells you about it himself? The August SVRC meeting will be held at the American Red Cross Building on Thursday, 8/3/17 at 7:00 PM. The meeting and presentation are open to ham radio operators and the general public. SOTA is a perfect example of a hobby within a hobby!
