A Weekend Open Hours Event aligned with the Illinois QSO Party!

Brother James Court Laundry Building
4595 Laverna Road, Springfield, IL 62707
Use the Springfield Developmental Center Driveway, then look to your left.

This Sunday is the 2023 Illinois QSO Party. The event runs from 12:00 noon until 8:00 pm. We will have the meeting room/radio room at St. James open by around 11:00 am.

We will have a radio monitoring the 443.000 repeater if you get lost on the way.

CURRENT PREPARATIONS:

There is one permanent HF antenna and HF rig which we plan to use. There is ample room to put up temporary antennas and stations if we choose keeping in mind we don't want to generate interference on harmonically related bands.
Dorothy McNeal, the lady we are helping by removing a tower from her property, is providing a pot of chili for us to eat during the event.
Our host, Brother Steven,  indicated they have a grill we can use if someone wants to cook hot dogs or hamburgers. BRING YOUR OWN FOOD TO COOK. He also said he has paper plates and bowls.
Larry Lichtenberger said he has plastic spoons he will bring.
I have some miscellaneous items such as napkins, additional plastic utensils, cooking tools, etc.
There is a refrigerator in the building if you have anything you need to keep cool.

The building has heat if needed.
