The Sangamon Valley Radio Club Board Meeting. Club Members Only.
We are proud to announce we have aquired the Athens 147.045+ repeater from the K9MCE Club and WS9V. This will remain linked to the Central Illinois Linked System as we are great partners with the K9MCE and AD9OV clubs that are also part of the system. We greatly appreciate WS9V and his many years keeping this system on the air.
This is at Richardson Club House. The same place we had our 75th anniversary dinner. The provided addresss will get you good directions from Google Maps.
This link will show you the map: https://goo.gl/maps/vpeCKa5BD9M25GwH6
We plan on starting around 8AM There is plenty of space and trees for field operations if you want to bring equipment and setup. We techincally don't have to leave the property until midnight.
The Anniversary dinner is nearing and members need to purchase their tickets via our Treasurer Will WR5C via the PO Box, open hours, or contacting him directly. No tickets will be sold afer Febuary 25 as the plate count will be handed in that day.
For more visit the calendar event.
The 71st Anniversary Dinner is quickly approaching. I wanted to share a few details about the dinner with you. This year's dinner will be a little different then past anniversary dinners. This year the dinner will be a fundraising event with a silent auction before the dinner, all silent auction earnings and a portion of your meal purchase will also be donated to the Sangamon Valley Radio Club in order to purchase new equipment and help us maintain our current equipment for the club station.
Field Day is just around the corner June 23, 0900 to start setting up and start operating at 1300 through June 24,1300 but if you haven't signed up there's still time for you to get in on the fun and experience of operating in the "field" at Riverton Middle School. This is a ARRL sponsored event that hams and ham clubs all over the country participate in. If you haven't done so, contact SVRC Field Day co-chair Ron Bakunas, KC9TEP.
A great field day is being planned, we're having several operating stations for those who want to test their radio skills and more!
