2024 Field Day Preliminary Results

Mapping showing highlighted ARRL Sections. Some of Canada and Alaska are not highlighted

Thanks to all that made the W9DUA Field Day event a success.
A special thanks to KB9RW, Br. Stephen for providing access to such a wonderful location for field day.

A highlight of the event was 3 young men who stopped by to visit after having traveled to the Chicago area to pass their technician test. As they were preparing to end their visit a mother brought her son, a scout, who is interested in ham radio.  He returned for Monday open hours with more questions.

Date:
Sat, 06/26/2021 - 12:00pm to Sun, 06/27/2021 - 1:00pm
Location:

Description:

COVID-19, of course, put the club's 2020 Field Day on hold, but not coordinated individual participation as outlined by ARRL and updated for 2021.

While we're not ready to go full force, you'll be able to taste at least some flavor of Field Day, albeit in front of your computer screen.

Field Day in the Time of Covid-19

This year, Field Day is going to be quite different for the members of the SVRC.  Since the Covid virus has restricted our movements and social distancing is the new normal, the SVRC is not going to assemble a team to conduct Field Day as it has in the past.  Instead, we are recommending that our members run their own Field Day exercise on their own.  As long as you follow the health guidelines, we hope you can work from home or from some personal outdoor area and make as many contacts as you can.

Field Day 2019

Date:
Sat, 06/22/2019 - 1:00pm to Sun, 06/23/2019 - 12:00pm
Location:
Red Cross - SVRC Meeting Room
Description:

This year, the SVRC is going to host the field day station at the Red Cross 3rd floor club meeting room on June 22 & 23.  You can sign up for specific one-hour blocks during the nearly two-day event.  We are trying something new by operating from the club station in hopes of garnering more public participation and demonstrating to our sponsor, the American Red Cross, our ability to conduct grand scale communications from their facility.  This is only a trial.  If we wish, we can return to the Riverton School location next year.

Field Day 2019

Field Day 2019 will be held June 22/23, 2019 at the Red Cross building at 1045 Outer Park Drive in Springfield. The operation will be as an Emergency Operations Center classificatrion. The official start of the event will be at 1:00 p.m. with some setup prior to that time.

Field Day 2018

Date:
Sat, 06/23/2018 - 9:00am to Sun, 06/24/2018 - 1:00pm
Location:
Riverton Middle School 1014 E Lincoln St, Riverton, IL 62561
Description:

Field Day is just around the corner June 23, 0900 to start setting up and start operating at 1300 through June 24,1300 but if you haven't signed up there's still time for you to get in on the fun and experience of operating in the "field" at Riverton Middle School. This is a ARRL sponsored event that hams and ham clubs all over the country participate in. If you haven't done so, contact SVRC Field Day co-chair Ron Bakunas, KC9TEP.
A great field day is being planned, we're having several operating stations for those who want to test their radio skills and more!
